International Conference on “Sustainable Agricultural Development with Climate Smart Systems” (SADCSS-2024) is scheduled to be held in S’O’A (Deemed to be University) Bhubaneswar, India during July 18-20, 2024. The ecological balance of the earth is upheld by the combined action of climate, water resources and environment. However, due to rapid urbanization and anthropogenic activities, this balance is shaken and can be observed in the form of changes in the weather patterns, global warming, water scarcity, pollution of water, air, and land. Thus, in the present scenario, climate variability is the major issue that needs to be addressed as it may cause irreversible effects on the environment. As agriculture is dependent on water resource, any deviation in the water supply can bring about major problems in agricultural production system and the severity can be as devastating as famine and flooding. The press release by IPCC (2023) emphasises on multiple, feasible and effective options to address the future climatic risk. This triggered the need to intensify the efforts and motivated to initiate a platform where these global issues can be discussed in an open forum. It is high time for all the scientific enthusiasts to act upon the falling quality of climate and environment through substantial research works in order to fill the adoptable gaps. It is hoped that the conference will provide a platform to the scientific community as well as other stakeholders to share their valuable knowledge that could potentially minimise the problems faced by the Mother Earth.
